Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

The most likely explanation of the tissue that you saw with your period was that it was just endometrial tissue as part of the period. When the hormones drop, both blood and the blood tissue that is producing it come out. This can be more pronounced if you had been on hormonal contraceptives before this month and then stopped it.

However, as I think you are thinking, this could be endometrial tissue in addition to embryonic tissue if you did conceive this cycle. The conceptus would be no more than 2 weeks along though. The only way to know for sure is if you saved the tissue. Then take it to your doctor who can send it to a pathology lab for analysis.

Are you off of birth control because you are attempting to conceive?
