What Causes Skipped Heart Beats After An Ablation For Ventricular Tachycardia?

default
Posted on Wed, 22 Nov 2017
Question: Hi i am having a problem with my heart and it scares me. i had a heart ablation for v-tach a month ago and instead of getting better i am worse than before. i just went back to surgeon and all he did was put a 24 hour monitor on me to see how much it beats wrong. I have missed beats while sitting or laying down but when i stand up my heart goes really fast immediately and my heart skips every three beats. I don't go back to the surgeon for another week and a half but i don't want my heart to fail or something either. If ablation didn't work and medicine didn't work that's why i had an ablation then what? Am i die from this. Its much worse than before surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hello Ma'am

After going through the medical details provided by you I understand your concern for your health and I would like to tell you that your symptoms could probably be due to two reasons

1. Could be a post op complication of ablation procedure.

2. Could be a failed or an incomplete ablation.

Now this has to be sorted out first because the management of the two reasons will differ. And for this again few test need's to be done and you have to take the help of your old treating cardiologist or if you are not satisfied with him then you have to review with another electrophysiologist ( cardiologist ).

Treatment part can include medical management with the help of medicines or a repeat Electophysiological study to review the problem and then treatment accordingly.

I hope this information will guide you properly.

Kind regards
