My husband has Alzheimers and I am the sole caretaker. We have no other family in the area. His condition is becoming increasingly difficult to deal with. I am thinking of placement soon. We went to the med. doc yesterday and last night is when I experienced the palpitations. This about the third episode in two weeks. Should I see a cardiologist or contact my GP. Could I have a potassium deficiency? My blood work last summer was normal. I do take Altenolol for blood pressure med. I experienced palpitations about 10 years ago also after going through a very stressful situation.

No, I do not have any chest pain or other symptoms besides the palpitations. I exercise regularly and eat well. I keep my weight down. Yes, I am very concerned about the next year regarding placing my husband when necessary. Also, I am concerned about my own future. We live in the country and it is a lot to take care of. I am obviously having a difficult time handling my own fears.

It could be probably due to anxiety, it is advisable to star on benzodiazepines along with escitalopram.

You can start on clonazepam and escitalopram in the morning.
