What Causes Regular Loud Belching?

Question: I am 72 years old and am concerned about my oxygen intake being interuped by more than occasional burping. I never know when it will happen and it's embarassig because it can be rather loud and sounds like a pig.
What could be causing this? And can it be treated naturally?

I am so sorry to hear about this burping that you have reported. From the information, this sounds more like gurgling sounds which are produced by food moving through the intestines. This happens when there is indigestion. This can be aggravated by mixing several different food types in a day. I will suggest that you limit the different types of food you take in a day. This may be the magical solution. No treatment is generally prescribed for this unless there is something else associated to this. This generally settles without any aggressive measures.Also, this doesn't interfere with oxygen intake.
