default
Posted on Wed, 3 Sep 2014
Question: I had one accident in Aug-2010 and had legament fracture in my left leg near ankle. I had one month of plaster that time. However still sometime i get pain if i sit for long time and when i try to walk after that. Is it normal or do i need to show it to doctor again? Will it have long term impact?

Brief Answer:
May send the x-ray picture of ankle If possible

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. It is normal to have some stiffness/pain after prolong sitting especially after ligament fracture that required Immobilisation (plaster).Usually, ligament injuries do not have long term effect on joints.
You may have a fresh (preferably both ankles) x-ray to rule out any early arthritis changes, if at all.
My suggestion for you would be-
1. Maintain weight as per your height.
2. Regular ankle exercises will keep the joint healthy.

Hope this helps. I shall be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
