What Causes Pain In Knee Along With Bruising Post Injury?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Mar 2015
Question: Hi

I feel 3 weeks ago and went down onto my right knee/shin it was very painful at the time but due to being in a hurry to go somewhere I didnt get any medical attention I just sat down till the pain subsided a bit which took a good 10 mins and had some paracetomol even so for the rest of the day the knee hurt to walk on and felt very tender even though there was no bruising. The following day my knee had a bit of bruising but nothing significant and it really hurt when I first woke up and went downstairs the pain subsided and it felt ok for the rest of the day.

3 weeks later and my knee is ok but still hurts when I kneel on something and my knee/shin is quite tender if you press on it in certain places I am just wondering if and when I should look into this or if it simply needs more time to heal on its own

Brief Answer:
Please visit an orthopedician and check for meniscal tear/ligament injuries

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through the details and feel that you need to be examined clinically by a orthopedician to evaluate if you have suffered from meniscal tear or injury of the ligaments of the knee. All injuries might not heal spontaneously, so waiting for it to heal might not be the best solution.

Please visit an orthopedician.

Hope that helps.
