What Causes Pain And Pressure Sensation In The Gums?

default
Posted on Wed, 18 Jan 2017
Question: Hi! For the past day or so ive had upper left side soreness and a feeling of pressue on one of my teeth i had a root canal done on this tooth several years ago. I just had a crown placed on there about two months ago and when trying to fit the crown- the area became sore. The soreness went a way a day later and its been fine ever since. Yesterday i was chewing gum and also may have brushed too hard and i believe that is what caused the area is feel sore. When i push on the tooth it hurts a bit and feels like pressure. Could this just be my gums being irratated? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Yes, can be gum irritation..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain biting too hard or brushing vigorously can definitely cause injury to the gums and can cause pressure and soreness..
Also at times biting too hard can cause minor injuries to the area below the root tips of the tooth causing soreness, pain but is temporary and will resolve soon..

I would therefore suggest you to wait and watch for 2-3 days and in case if it does not improve then get an x ray done..

As of now you should avoid chewing from left side, do warm saline gargles and also avoid touching or pressing the tooth again and again..

Hopefully the soreness will subside soon..
