What Causes First Breath Affect?

default
Posted on Mon, 29 Dec 2014
Question: I have noticed over time that the length I can run or work before getting short of breath or tiring doesn't seem to adjust. altitude and amount of regular exercise doesn't seem to make a difference either. Is there any explanation for why this is?

Brief Answer:
First breath affect

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal
I think I can explain to you why the problem you face is there

Actually when one starts working out (as in daily), the body is tuned normally to a certain amount of oxygen concentration. his concentration makes you exercise comfortably to a certain extent. And therefore one feels breathless or fatigued after a fixed amount of time. This duration is variable for every person but fixed for that person. The phenomenon is often known as the first breath affect.

The trick is that at this level one has to persist with the exercise. One should not stop or slow down at this level. Usually it takes up to 5 minutes. Once done, the person can continue to exercise further on from there with relatively much less discomfort.

Also, endurance needs the development of muscle fibres and that is a slow process. So you have to keep doing it to get there.

I hope that the information helps you.
