default
Posted on Mon, 19 Oct 2015
Question: I woke up on Wednesday, Sept 16th at about midnight, feeling like my surrounding were moving. the room started to spin. I got up. it was followed by stomach pain and nausea. I vomited . Like when you ate something that did not agree with you. Tuesday, evening, i had dinner at Applebees. I had the Napa Chicken. I blame my symptoms on the chicken dish. Since then, my stomach is uneasy, i feel unbalance, and when I lay down to sleep, sometimes thy symptoms of my surroundings moving come back. At times i can only sleep on my right side. If I sleep on my back or left side my surrounding start to move. the room starts to spin. I soon as I shift to my right side i am able to sleep? Should I be concern? I just turn 46 on Sept. 17th.

Brief Answer:
appears to be vertigo

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

The symptoms mentioned fit well with vertigo, which is basically a sense of spinning. Can be due to many causes but most common cause is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). BPPV is defined as an abnormal sensation of motion that is elicited by certain provocative positions, in your case it is lying flat or on left side.

Usually this is a benign condition and resolves on its own. For the time being some drugs may help you. You can contact with your ENT doctor for prescription.
