What Causes Discoloration On The Toes?

default
Posted on Fri, 1 Jul 2016
Question: My wife of 55 years (d.o.b 21/1/1942) has been suffering with problems to her 'toes' - big toes in particular - they are showing signs of going dark.
To me, I guess I am concerned with her heart - bad circulation.
We have a wicked Hospital system where we live - she nearly died the last time she was a patient.
Is there any particular issue I should be concerned about. XXXX

Brief Answer:
peripheral vascular disease needs to be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.

The description worries me. The possibility of peripheral vascular disease and association with diabetes needs to be ruled out. A clinical examination is needed in the same. Depending upon the findings a lower limb Doppler study might be needed. You need to visit a doctor for the same.
