Question: I'm 38 weeks pregnant and the baby's movements are odd. They are sometimes jerky, shuddering or vibration like movements. Is this normal?

Brief Answer:
Normal movements

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about baby movements.

Baby movements tend to change at the time towards delivery. Yes it is normal what you are feeling.

This happens mainly because the baby will be moving down slowly and getting ready for delivery.

As long as you feel 10 movements per day I don't see any reason to worry.

I had a thorough ultrasound at 20 weeks and at every obgyn appointment he scans quickly for a minute or so. Would this have picked up any potential peoblems?
Also do babies have seizures inutero? Ive heard different opinions on this. Thank you

No seizures in utero

Hi,

There is no possibility of seizures in utero. I don't think there is any abnormality in the baby. Such fetal movements are common.
