Question: I went to a doctor who told me that I have cystic breasts-- is this necessarily a symptom of pregnancy?

If already pregnancy is confirmed and cysts in breast are seen they can be due to pregnancy specially if they are symptomless.

But in non pregnant state or if status of pregnancy is not known then it can be benign cystic changes which if eventually causes symptoms like
- pain in a localized area
- discharge from nipple
- lump formation
then visit a surgeon immediately as it can be a infection or worse early malignancy.

In your case chances of malignancy are less because of young age. Therefore you might need to visit a surgeon.

Hello mam. Chances are there but urine pregnancy test is better in confirming the same.
So to confirm it do a urine pregnancy test in case you have missed your period or suspicious of pregnancy.
