Question: These following symptoms have been periodic and lasts about 4 days. I have the sensation that I drank very hot food or drink. My tongue and roof of mouth burns and food has little taste. I lasts about four days and goes away. I have been trying to figure out what different foods I have been eating but can't put my finger on it. Also, I swim twice a week and thought it might be chlorine. However, I have been doing this for years.

Brief Answer:
Probably elated to swimming!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have reviewed your information fully and it is suggestive of being related to the swimming. The duration of these symptoms and the swimming frequency seem to complement each other. Though you have been swimming for years, I cannot guarantee the concentration of chlorine in the pool is the same. Chlorine can cause chemical burns and this is likely if the concentration changed. Do you get to ingest this water? Has there be a recent change in the pool you use for swimming?

My plan for now is very simple. Stop swimming for a week or two and let’s see if it makes a difference in your symptoms. If it does, which I highly suspect then that’s the cause. Taking measures to prevent that will help.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
