Question: I have what appear to be blisters on the back of my tounge. Light in color but a few black in color.

Well, as per your explanation it can be tongue papillae and as it is present at the back of tongue it can be Circumvallate papillae that are raised structures and arranged in a typical V shape.

Also no pain or discomfort at the moment however last night the larger nodule was sore

Hi..
As per the images it is appearing like swollen papillae and nothing serious..
You can gargle with warm saline solution..
Avoid spicy and hot foods..
Drink plenty of cool water..
Follow up after a week..
