What Causes A Pimple On The Right Toe?

default
Posted on Tue, 30 May 2017
Question: Hello Doctor,

This is regarding a pimple like formation on right toe as shown in the attached picture. It doesn't pain and is little hard to touch when compared to pimple. Few days back the same location was feeling little rough when touched and it was suddenly realized today that it became the size of a pimple. Request you to let me know if it looks like a Corn or something that needs an urgent attention.

Thanks & Regards,
Ashish

Brief Answer:
Not a corn but due to friction.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and have checked the attached images. I understand your concerns. Let me assure you that it is a boil caused possibly due to friction. It is a fluid filled vescicle. It can be punctured with a sterile needle or just let be on its own to resolve. It would resolve in a few days and needs no intervention. There can be some tenderness over the area for these few days. That does not mean that it needs urgent attention.

It is not a corn but repeated friction over the area can give rise to a corn. You need to check your shoes for friction point and should use soft soled shoes.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
