Question: If i lifted 150 lbs for 5 reps and rested 5 minutes before my next set. Would i burn the same calories if i lifted 225 lbs for 5 reps and rested 5 minutes?

You would certainly burn more calories lifting the 225lbs rather than lifting the 150lbs as much energy is needed to lift the heavier loads. Excessive weights at once may cause muscle tears if you are not used too. The goal is to increase your loads progressively to levels you feel comfortable with and not about lifting substantial loads.
