Maximum dose of olanzapine a day is 20mg, but in some cases, even 30mg has been given. If any one takes 30mg at a time, who is not on same drugs for longer period, then it would lead to excessive sedation and that sedation would be over in a day. Olanzapine does not lead to serious side effects like dystonia, rigidity or slurring of speech, but sometime, such side effects happen. In case, your patient gets any of these side effects, then consult a psychiatrist immediately. Otherwise, just wait for few hours and by the time, sedative effect will over, everything would be fine.
