Question: There is a possible 3mm intra-articular loose body which overlies the lateral compartment. There is moderate medial and marked patellofemoral degenerative change. A small enthesophyte projects off the patella.

What does that all mean?

Brief Answer:
Loose body and degeneration of the joint.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

These are MRI findings of a knee joint. You have a loose body- may be a broken piece of bone in the knee joint that can move from one area to another. Patella and femoral surfaces of the joint show age related degenerative changes due to wear and tear. This can cause pain on movement in the knee joint.

You have a small bony projection near patella that suggests stress on the knee joint.

I hope this answers your query.
