The Roof Of My Mouth At The Gum Line And

Posted on Sun, 28 Apr 2019
Question: The roof of my mouth at the gum line and the lower teeth gumlne are filled with a thick oozing fluid that sticks to my teeth and can actually impair my speech. It gives me a temporary lisp :). Unfortunately, I believe that it is self inflicted by scraping tartar at home. I'm pretty sure (positive, really) that I need an antibiotic. Problem is I am self employed and at the moment have a cash flow issue. What is the best approach to this in the most frugal manner? I'm starting to get an ear ache and I know it's all related. Need to keep it at bay until I can get to the dentist

Brief Answer:
Needed a clinical picture of the condition

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I read through your query. I must say that there is nothing much to get worried in this case. It can be treated by some ways, but before that I need some pics of the clinical condition to conclude with the exact treatment picture. It is because you told its liquid seen on the gumline (which is not that usual), so if i get the pics of the condition we can reach a proper conclusion and I can tell you the proper treatment.

Hope you understood what I meant.

Thank you and have a healthy day.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried to take pictures and have been unable to get anything clear. It seems like a ghost hunt :) I will try again and send in the morning if that's ok. Also, sometimes it feels like there's a popcorn kernel shell stuck to my teeth and I can "pop" it off with a dental pick. I will send pictures tomorrow.
Thank you again!

Brief Answer:
can be calculus or pus discharge due to gum infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hii again

Thank you for your rapid follow up query.
From the symptoms what you told I feel it can be either calculus accumulated on the teeth got removed or can be pus discharge due to generalised gum infection(since its creamy colour). It can also be due to decay of certain teeth resulting in root infection and release of pus.I suggest you to do warm salt water gargle so that there will be increased blood circulation and infections will be reduced. If the condition is infection we may have to go for antibiotic dosage.please do warm salt water gargle twice for a week.Hope you have understood what I meant.

Thank you and have a healthy day

Hello, These are two pics of the roof of my mouth and the white discharge that is stuck to my teeth. I can't get rid of it no matter how much I brush.

Brief Answer:
Nothing to get worried

Detailed Answer:
Hii thank you once again for coming back to us. I saw the pics.

I must say that nothing to be worried in this case. The roughness like serrations on the skin of palate(in pic 1) is rugae which is natural for everyone. Everyone has that so you dont have to do anything. And the white marks on gumline is nothing but it is just the colour change on the gumline. It can be due to excessive pressure applied onto the gum while brushing for too much cleaning of tartar. It can also be some debris(calculus) which can be cleaned if you go to a dentist.I suggest you there is no need of any worries for this case. Please follow your routine and go ahead. Stay happy and be cool.

Hope you have understood what I meant.
