Since then I have been recording the BP readings taken by Omron make digital BP monitor. results are attached for your perusal. Please review and suggest whether these readings are normal or not? If not, should I start the BP medicines or should I try to mange it by change in daily routine and dietery control?
Please reply.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

I have gone through the reports attached. Your BP is fluctuating between 112 to 144 systolic and 82 to 110 diastolic. I would suggest you start with low dose antihypertensive because the diastolic is 90 and above.

I hope this answered your query.

Thanks for the reply Doctor.
Both highest readings 140/110 were at the same time and only once that was during my extreme mental stress condition. Overall average is 127/90 .
Can it not be lowered by exercises and dietery control only? Actually I'm sceptical about starting BP medicine right now as I have heard that after taking BP medicine, one has to continue it for whole life. Do I need some more tests and check ups to be sure? Please guide.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I suggest you start medicines because diastolic is more than 90. Usually, controlling BP without medicine is difficult. You can get further investigations done such as ECHO or treadmill test that will show how much stress your heart can take. If during stress your Bp is more than 160 systolic then it is better you start on medicine.

I hope this answered your query.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Pulse rate is associated with BP, there will be variation in pulse depending on high and low BP. But there are other causes which can vary BP as well. So it is not specific to BP.

I hope this answered your query.
