Brief Answer:
About knee replacement

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

Knee replacement is the best procedure for severe Osteoarthritis knee.

The damaged joint is removed and replaced with stainless steel, chromium and titanium alloy Implants.

This shall give you nearly pain free mobilisation. Exercise after surgery is needed for upto 6 months. Weight bearing can be started in 2 weeks.

Complications can include infection, loosening of the metal joint, fracture etc. Hence proper exercise to strengthen the muscles, good diet, proper rehabilitation is needed.

You can ask me any specific questions about this procedure and I shall be ready to help.

I hope I have answered your query.

Regards,

Brief Answer:
Information about knee replacement

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Success rates is very high. But after replacement the surgery may need to be done once again after close to 20 years. This is the life of the survey implant.
It is best to go with Stryker Triathlon series knee set as this gives good range of motion after operation. Usual cost in Government or XXXXXXX Hospital would be close to one lakh XXXXXXX rupees. It would be better to go with one joint replacement at a time unless she has other health concerns which cannot allow her to go through surgery twice. You may need to spend close to 10 to 15 days in the Hospital but this can extend to a month in some places.
