Acute/recent onset nausea is most commonly due to an acute viral infection, in most persons the symptoms resolve after a days.

If the nausea is persistent then other causes should be considered.

Peptobismol causes stool to become dark or black, it is one of its side effects so the dark stool is likely due to this.
The dark stool will resolve a few days after you stop the peptobismol.

Dramamine can also help with the nausea if it is still very disturbing. It can be used with peptobismol.

Kidney disease can cause nausea but this is usually if the kidney disease is moderate to severe.
IF you are not sure if your disease is moderate or severe, you may need repeat testing.

If the nausea is persisting despite the diet change then you may want to consider using bland dry foods like plain rice, toast, biscuits etc., for a few days
