Question: Was shoveling granit off a truck on to a wheel barrel . The cover on the tailgating slipped off and I flew up in the air falling on my back on the cement drive way. Doctor said I have an acute left knee injury and a disc fracture. I did PT exercises and it helped my knee. But I have a knot on the back of my calf that hurts when walking . Can only stand or walk for 15 minutes. I have massaged that ball exercised iced it but it does not help. My lower back aches and I have shooting pain up my leg to the lower part of my back. I was on baclofen and it helps . But am afraid to become addicted.
What is it?

Detailed Answer:
Brief Ans-Left Calf Lump with- Knee and Lowback Pain with Spinal Stenosis

HI,Thanks for your query to HCM.
I studied your query in full details and reviewed it with your health concerns.

You have 2 health concerns-
a-Knee Pain upper leg pains/ with shooting pains from your Upper Leg extending to lower backaches
Investigation of this Problem-

I would suggest you to have USG and CT study of the Left knee and a Second opinion from OrthoPaedic Surgeon.
This would help you to plan further treatment with Orthro-Scopic OrthoPedic Surgeon.

My Impression of your Knee and lower back Problems-
a-1-Based on the facts of the query-You need to rule out the Traumatic Arthritis and to rule out the Cruciate (Ant/Post)Ligament Injuries.

a-2-Shooting Pain in the upper leg and in the lower back-
Disc Fracture with PID-(Prolapse InterVertebral Disc )causing SPINAL CANAL STENOSIS needs to be ruled out By MRI with Contrast Study in your case. This would fix the cause of the shooting pains in the Left Upper leg with Lower Backache
Decompression of the PID with decompression of the Spinal Canal stenosis would help you to relieve this shooting Pain.

b-Knot on the back of Your calf-which is not reduced after icing or massaging.
My Impression of Knee and Calf Lump-
This Knot on the back of the Left Knee and calf -could be due to the Morrant Baker's Cyst of the Left Knee- due to Post-Traumatic Knee Arthritis.
Arthroscopic Synoviectomy would relieve this.

To Evaluate further give Me following information-
Please update how long back you had this complaints for each of the left knee joint pains / Left Calf Lump / With Low Backache Shooting Pains with intolerance to Stand for more than 15 minutes.

Hope this reply would help you to plan treatment with your doctors.
Welcome for any further query in this regard,to be replied in next session.
