Question: In continuation to my consultation from Dr. XXXXXXX as below, we sought a prescrption from our physician from Sakra World hospital who checked urine & culture reports and provided attached prescription.

Now based on prescribed dosages administered and considering my fathers age of 72, just wanted to seek your opinion if we need to provide 5 more days of the drug or could well be stopped at 5 days. What is the probability that the UTI can recur if we stop at 5 days and any negative impact if we continue for 5 additional days (total 10 days).

Thanks for follow up .Imepenum has to be given as intravenous infusion over a period of 30-5 minutes Hence has to be given by trained nurse .

The dosedepends upon the severity of infection and status of renal function ..
Your treating Urologist or Physician will help you guide as regards dose of the drug .But in most of the cases it is 1 to 1.5 gms daily in divided doses .
