Question: I had my laptop on my lap and it slid off my lap and it hit the long bone on the top of my foot on the right side. Could that hurt my foot? I can move it and the bone seems intact.

Brief Answer:
Less likely to hurt your foot, please apply ice pack if there is pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. A laptop sliding off your lap and hitting the long bone of foot is most likely to be a low intensity traumatic injury.

2. In your case there is a chance of slight injury to the soft tissues and this is not significant.

3. There will be no injury to the bone and this is not a serious concern.

4. If mild pain persists then you can apply an ice pack for 15 minutes twice daily for three days.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
