Posted on Fri, 8 May 2015
Question: Yes. I take Nuvigil, prescribed by my Pysch, only on the days I am so depressed I can't get up? I took 1/4 of tab Sunday & half of the 150mg, 2dathe pain clinic gave me the 5 panel urine tests... I take 200mg Lyrica, x3 10/325 hydrocondon x 3 & morphine Sulfate 15 mg ER.x3. I forgot to tell them about the Nuvigil. I just was n so much pain I could not think. he asked about phenagan & said yes never thinking to tell him b4 test that I have a script. It's a great possibility I may have taken my meds twice cuz I fed the cat twice! He said he was sending it to lab cuz it had 200 more meds. I asked what, he said sending to lab now? Can Doc tell I took a double dose, How much trouble am I in?

Brief Answer:
Yes, doctors can tell from your lab results if you are taking more drugs!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about your pain and the uncertainty about your drug screen. So long as you have a script for all the medications that were found in the urine screen, there is no reason to be worried. You are in no trouble. Even if higher levels than normal are present in the urine, the doctors would need to counsel you on how to take your medications correctly in order to avoid intoxication and side effects.

However, if medications are found for which you have no script, am afraid you would have some explaining to do. This would portray the image of a drug addict and may cause the doctors to suspend your pain medications which would be a terrible thing.

In all, higher dosages can be suspected from drug screens. As long as you obtained all the drugs legally, there is no reason to be afraid. If some were no t prescribed, it may lead to termination of your medications for fear that you are likely a drug addict.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Brief Answer:
Let then call you!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this followup precision.

I am happy you have scripts for all of them. Be calm and if they request for justifications, provide them. Calling them may raise the suspicion of you being afraid of which that is not the case.

Please, how severe is the pain at this time. What medications have you taken? The question of whether you should take a drug or not is not clear and I will suggest that you rephrase the last part of the question so that I can address it fully.

I hope to hear from you. Until then, I wish you God’s blessings and comfort. He would for sure never forsake you and would see you through these difficult moments. May your faith in Him never be shaken.

Again, thank you, Doctor. I am to take 1 200mg Lyrica, 1 10/325 hydracodon & 1 15mg ER morphine each every 8 hrs. The pain is so severe sometimes My body goes into a total jerk! I have 3-4 good days per month. The neuropaty moves around.
Some Times it's head to toe. Then it will be my entire left side or other days it's my entire right side. Then at other times it chooses just my legs & the pain then is so intense I can hardly walk. I walk all bent over & shake like a crazy person. At other times it will pick a limb, or part of a foot, leg, arm, hand. At ALL times my spine hurts as well as my fingernails & toenails which feel as if they have been caught in a car door or a draw of a desk has been slammed shut on my hands or feet. I have always followed directions. On the good days, I dont take them, so, I have maybe 2 doses left over, as was the case yesterday. I believe I took a double dose. I did not do on purpose, I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off, I was in a lot of pain. I fed the cat twice, so, there is a better than good chance that I took a double dose. I guess I was talking too much or acting out of character that caused the test. I am out of panic mode today. The chips will fall where they may, however, I pray they fall on my side!
I am pleased that I have interfaced with a Christian Doctor. May God bless you for being so kind to me!

Brief Answer:
Do you see a pain management specialist?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for this follow up information. I am so sorry to hear about these severe pains that you have reported. It must be difficult dealing with such severe pain. Though it is difficult to pinpoint the cause at this time, I will suggest that you see a pain management specialist. At least, we should be able to properly manage this pain to enable you be pain free on most days of the month and not just about 4days. I believe your doctor should try different drugs/combination/dosages etc. until he gets what works best to you.

The down side of pain medications is that no one drug/dosage/combination works to the same extend in each and everyone. This is why your doctor has to take on this personal to figure out what really works best for you and just for you.

I wish you well and God’s richest blessings. He’s the greatest healer!
