Question: My husband has been tired and falling asleep all day for two weeks. His GP seemed unconcerned. Yesterday and today all he has done is sleep, fitfully and noisily - he mumbles. I don'the know what to do.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have read your query and understand your concern .
Does he has any problem with blood pressure as low blood pressure ?
Is his ECG all clear ?
If he snores loudly and his sleep is disturbed repeatedly then he should see sleep specialist .
He needs sleep study called polysomnography .
Sleep study will diagnose obstructive sleep apnea and narcolepsy .
If he is suffering from obstructive sleep apnea then he needs cpap an oxygen flow therapy .
If he is found to be suffering from narcolepsy then he needs drug .
Finally my suggestion is blood pressure checking , ecg and SLEEP STUDY .
I hope your query is solved .
