Hi, can I answer your health question? Please type your question here...I’m having pain in my throat glands. Originally diagnosed with throat infection, took two different antibiotics and it didn’t help. Pain when swallowing, lift my head up or turn to the side. No sinus problem. No ear problem. What do I have?

Brief Answer:
Laryngopharygeal Reflux

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query

The symptoms you have described seems to be related to a condition called Laryngopharygeal Reflux secondary to acid regurgitation from the stomach into the throat.

You need to take medicines such as proton pump inhibitors and antacids for few weeks. Drink plenty of water water. Avoid chilled food and beverages, coffee and fizzy drinks.

If the symptoms do not subside with the above medications, you should get a Laryngoscopy done to examine the Laryngopharynx.

Hope this answers your query. I’ll be available for the follow up queries.
