My Husband Has A Tingling Sensation Under Lft Nipple Area

default
Posted on Wed, 17 Oct 2018
Question: My husband has a tingling sensation under lft nipple area for 5 days, off and on. He went to the Dr. and was sent to the hospital. He had all kinds of tests, EKG's, blood work, heart monitor, enzyme test, X-ray,antibody. That was on Friday. He had it on Sat. and Sunday, but nothing since. The Dr. at the hospital said to follow up with his Dr., since they had no answer. He has had no symptoms yesterday or today and he doesn't know if he should see his GP, or Cardiologist. All his teats were good! Any ideas?

Hello there,
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...
I've gone through your query in details...
I can understand your concern...

Well, as per your description, it seems like the major cardiac causes have been ruled out already (given his age and symptoms). I believe the cardiac stress test/DSE has also been done too (kindly notify if not).

It's good that the tests have come back good. However, there can be other possible causes apart from cardiac (namely some pinched nerve, occasional gastroesophageal reflux/GERD or even functional neuromuscular) which can also give rise to these symptoms. They won't be shown in those tests.

By taking some conventional antacid/PPIs (eg. Omeprazole once daily) and some mild analgesic like ACETAMINOPHEN twice daily for the next few days and observe how he stays. Avoid any strenuous activities involving the arm/chest/shoulder for the time being(if at all do).

Even though there are no symptoms now, it important to follow-up with his GP to keep him/her in the loop. Please discuss these possibilities with them too.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take Care
Kind Regards
