My Doctor Thinks I Might Have Interstitial Cystitis . I

Question: My doctor thinks I might have interstitial cystitis. I took a round of antibiotics because she said I had a UTI but the culture grew out nothing. I still have blood in my urine and terrible pain and fullness in kidneys and back. CT scan revealed no stones. I don't have any urgency or pain when I pee in fact I barely can go and have very low output. Probably because I can't hardly get water down. What are your thoughts

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

You say there is blood in urine which is a serious issue to be looked into. A physical trauma or a wound bid enough to bleed are the ones which can cause blood in urine.

This may need evaluation with a cystoscopy if the CT did not reveal anything.

If the urine shows only pus cells though the culture shows no growth, taking antibiotic course would suffice.
