My Cartilage Piercing Was Infected, I Saw A Doctor, And

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Dec 2019
Question: My cartilage piercing was infected, I saw a doctor, and he said not to take out the piercing. I took the prescribed course of flucloxacillin and the infection seemed to almost go away, but not completely. Over time the infection came back.

I saw a different doctor and he told me to take out the piercing and get it re-pierced later. He gave me another course of antibiotics which I have started.

Do I take out the piercing or not? Would changing the piercing with a new sterile stud help?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
You can remove the piercing

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a few
I have gone through your query.
I would recommend you to take out the piercing and continue with the prescribed antibiotics.
Once the infection resolves completely you can again get a new piercing done with a sterile stud.
