Brief Answer:
Not Prediabetic

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

According to ADA guidelines any A1c more than 5.7 is considered as Pre-diabetic.

Pain in legs could be musculoskeletal pain. Since it is coupled with tingling sensation, it could well be due to neuropathy.

Since your A1c is normal, I do not suspect the problem to be due to Diabetic neuropathy.

The other possibilities for such symptoms could either be Vit B12 deficiency or nerve impingement in the lumbar spine.

I would recommend you to get a Vit B12 level estimation done, if the value turns normal then do get evaluated physically by a Neurophysician.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.

Regards,

Brief Answer:
Yes, you can take Vit B12

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

Yes, you can take Vit B12 supplements without being tested for.

PT will surely help but do rule out lumbar spine related problem at once.
