Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

I feel he is having a reflux of the stomach contents during nights. This is followed by reswallowing which is resulting in those abnormal sounds.

Try and avoid feeding just before he goes to bed. Feed him early in the evening and nothing there after. (If he feels hungry by doing so give him more of solids rather than liquids.) But avoid feeding before going to bed.

After feeding do not let him lie down immediately. Ask him to be in a sitting position.

Elevate the head end of the bed. This will decrease the reflux.
Encourage him to sleep in left lateral position (difficult in kids)

If he is overweight reduction of weight may help.

Do not use a tight bottom which presses his stomach.

If the symptoms persist even after this he may require proton pump inhibitors and prokinetics as prescribed by your pediatrician after investigations.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
