Is There Anything I Can Do To Make The Scar At The Frenulum Heal Faster?
Question: Hi,
I got circumcised a month ago, all the stitches have healed except the area near the frenulum. It open, not painful even when I touch it or clean it. It worries me. Is there anything I can do for it to heal. Or is normal for this to happen after circumcision?
Please advise
Regards

Brief Answer:
It will heal by it own.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If the wound is clean and if there is no signs of infection, nothing much to do and I will heal by itself. As of now no re-suturing is required. Suturing is not always done and nothing will happen if the wound left open.
You can use a soft pad to prevent direct contact with the clothes until the wound completely heals.
Keep an eye on the wound and you can consult a GP in case of signs of infection.
Wishing you good health.

Thank you very much for your prompt response.
Please advise if I have to cover it with gauge and bandage after cleaning it and should I continue to apply the ointment.
Also please advise, how long does it normally take for it to heal.

Brief Answer:
Better to cover.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Better to cover it because frequent contact with clothes can cause delayed healing.
Ointments are not required as the wound is clean and there is no signs of infection.
Generally it take around five to six days to heal completely.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks
