Question: I was just diagnosed for lower cervical spine arthritis, upper is ok. I am 66 years old and female. So the pain is going up into my head, it is not going down into my arm,..what do I need to be careful of? what can I do to make it better?

Hello,

The headache may not be associated with cervical arthritis.
Possibility of tension type or migraine headache is likely.
For neck arthritis , isometric neck exercises should be done regularly.
For headache prevention, timely sleep, food and avoiding fasting should be followed.
Avoid excessive tea or coffee.
Drugs like amitriptyline or nortriptyline or duloxetine can be used for benefit in headache and neck region.
