Answered by Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Causes of foamy urine

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Foamy urine can occur normally if the speed of urine flow is high.
Other conditions in which urine become foamy include urinary infection, fistula m, presence of protein in urine.
Urine analysis, culture, 24 hour urinary protein levels can essentially rule out any underlying causes for the foamy urine.
If you do not have any other associated symptoms, it is likely that the foamy urine is normal occurrence and nothing to be worried about

Hope this answers your question. Please let me know if you need further clarification.

Questions:
1) Can an antidepressant (Citalopram) 20mg create this issue?
2) Can we consider the foam in the video as normal and ignore it?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to be concerned about

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Citalopram will not cause foamy urine
The blood and urine workup as per the attached reports are within normal limits.
After reviewing the video, it seems that the foaminess is due to fast urine flow. It is nothing to be worried about.
However, your urine seems to be little concentrated indicative of inadequate water intake. So make sure that you stay well hydrated.

Dr. Lekshmi

Dear Dr.Lekshmi,

Unfortunately I cannot yet rest because for 42 years I never had such foam and now since 6 months is there and growing, also when drinking a lot of water.

In terms of Hydration I'm drinking really a lot, something like 2,5 / 3 litres per day , I think that also the analysis 24H is confirming the low concentration.
I would like to have the opinion of un urologist and nephrologist also.
Thanks
