Brief Answer:
different possible causes

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

It can sometimes be alarming to see blood after a long period without a period. Menopause is defined as having no period for at least a year. Bleeding after menopause, even if slight, is called post menopausal bleeding.

In many many persons, it is not due to a serious cause but it should always be assessed. Blood can be due to bleeding from the genital tract (post menopausal bleeding) or the urinary tract eg in an urinary tract infection or stone in the urinary tract ( in that case, blood seen in urine)

In terms of the genital tract- benign (not cancerous changes) of the lining can cause this issue but other causes would also need to ruled out as well

Assessment involves physical examination, ultrasound may also be needed to take a closer look at the uterus and its lining.
It can also assess the urinary tract as well.

Further treatment and management would depend on the findings.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
