Brief Answer:
Long term complications unlikley

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone elaborately through the medical notes provided. When there is a defect in the skull through which crainial contents bulge/herniate out, it is known as a cephalocele. It is assuring that brain contents have not herniated out in this case. In such a case, complications like seizures are relatively unlikely and no specific long term management is needed. Management would be symptomatic, in case any problem subsequently arises. In other words, chances of recurrence are unlikely and you can assume the condition to be cured. The main concern is neurodeficit in some aspects but that does not seem applicable as the brain matter herniation was not present. The chances of development of hydrocephalus are also relatively low but a follow up will be required for the same.

Nevertheless, developmental follow up is essential and it needs to be ascertained that developmental milestones are on track. If not, developmental therapy would be needed.

You need not be otherwise concerned. Feel free to write back.
