Question: If someone has a period that won’t end on its own it is just prolonged and their doctor reminds that they take Norethindrone for the three months continuously while they lose weight and take metformin what happens to the blood ? I mean if the period doesn’t finish where does the rest of the blood go? Is it just going to be stuck in her lining or uterus for the 3 months?

Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I will be answering your concerns today.
When you take Norethindrone, it helps in forming the lining of uterus (endometrium), and stabilizes it. So the lining doesn’t break while taking norethindrone and hence no bleeding occurs. Nothing gets stuck on the lining of uterus.
I hope I have clarified your doubts.
Thanks
