Question: Hi - I was lifting weights at the gym today and did a squatting motion and experienced a very odd feeling I believe in my left IT band so I stopped. I am uncomfortable walking and sitting in the theupper left part of my thigh. I am not sure what to do to alleviate the feeling should I go to the doctor, just lay down? II was at a week long conference last week, a lot of sitting, standing and walking and been experiencing cramps in my legs since my return this week - not sure if that has to do with it. any suggestions for pain relief/healing? Thanks

The symptoms you are experiencing is likely due to a combination of muscle strain and IT band inflammation.

Management includes:
-Application of ice at the area of pain
-Take adequate rest
-Take Advil 400 mg 3 times a day after food for next 2-3days
-You can continue foam rolling
-Once the pain starts going down, you can do stretching and switch to heat therapy
