I Tripped Once My Pant Leg And Fell On Top
Question: I tripped once my pant leg and fell on top of foot. It’s throbbing and bruised but I have full range of motion. Should I still be worried toe may be broken or is it just bruised.
I went to urgent care and my toe is broken. Here is the report below. The doctor referred me to podiatrist. He mentions loose small bone in X-ray. Will they mean I will need surgery? Thanks in advance

CLINICAL INDICATION: Fall, initial encounter.
COMPARISON STUDIES: None.
FINDINGS:
Left elbow: Bony alignment is anatomic, and there is no
Left first toe: There is an avulsion fracture off of the plantar base of the first toe distal
phalanx, best seen on the lateral view; the avulsed bone fragment measures 2.5 mm in diameter. No
evidence of dislocation or subluxation. The joint spaces of the first toe are preserved.
