I Rolled My Ankle 1 Week Ago Pretty Badly, But

default
Posted on Tue, 10 Mar 2020
Question: I rolled my ankle 1 week ago pretty badly, but figured I had only sprained it bc I was able to walk on it with mild discomfort after ice/rest. My ankle has been swollen/sore since. I believe I may have further damaged or actually broken something in my foot or ankle this evening after turning and putting pressure in just the right way while playing on the floor with my son. My foot/ankle is now tingling, with some intermittent tingling even felt up towards my knee. I can’t move it or put any pressure/weight on my foot without significant pain. As there are no visible bones sticking out, Can i postpone going to the emergency room until tomorrow morning? I have a 5mo old and 2 year old with no one to watch them till that time.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

I would advise you to keep the limb elevated and ice it 5-6 times a day. Avoid weight bearing if painful. It's best to go to the Emergency room to get it evaluated for a fracture. This will put things at ease for sure.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
