I Just Need Some Quick Advice About A Medical Issue

default
Posted on Wed, 30 Dec 2020
Question: I just need some quick advice about a medical issue I am having. I noticed today that I was having some pain in my left ribs when I sneeze. Because of that I felt around and there is some swelling on my left side on top of my ribs. It is light swelling which goes the length of the ribs. It just feels like some fluid. I have been running really hard for the first time in a long time the last few days. I am having no pain other than when I sneeze. I just wanted to make sure that I am good to go about with my day unless the pain gets worse. I am having no other pain anywhere else on my body and I am 23 and generally in good health. I am only asking because the lump is kinda freaky lol.

Brief Answer:
It could be a Lipoma or a Cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description,it could be a Lipoma or a Cyst.
You should be investigated.
Xray chest PA view, Ultrasound Chest has to be done for a clue about the location, nature of the swelling.FNAC (Fine needle aspiration cytology) will confirm the diagnosis.
If it is Lipoma/Cyst located in the superficial layers,it can be removed under Local anaesthesia. No need for hospitalisation also.
Nothing to worry.
Please consult a Surgeon and proceed further.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further
Wish you good health
Regards
