I Just Need Some Quick Advice About A Medical Issue

default
Posted on Wed, 30 Dec 2020
Question: I just need some quick advice about a medical issue I am having. I noticed today that I was having some pain in my left ribs when I sneeze. Because of that I felt around and there is some swelling on my left side on top of my ribs. It is light swelling which goes the length of the ribs. It just feels like some fluid. I have been running really hard for the first time in a long time the last few days. I am having no pain other than when I sneeze. I just wanted to make sure that I am good to go about with my day unless the pain gets worse. I am having no other pain anywhere else on my body and I am 23 and generally in good health. I am only asking because the lump is kinda freaky lol.

Brief Answer:
Muscular with costochondritis. Long physical activity

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history and understood the concerns.
Your history is suggestive of muscular sprain of the ribs and may be with costochondritis.
The fluidy appearance indicates swollen muscles and happens to sudden or long physical activity like running as per your history.
I would advise you to take an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen if it suits you.
Take rest. Give rest to the affected area by not doing any activities that will strain chest muscles.
You may keep the left upper limb in a sling for some time.
Warm compresses on the affected area.
If all these measures do not help then please consult your Doctor.

I hope this answer helps you.
Please give feedback.
