I Have Severe Health Anxiety And Worry About Mouth Problems.

Question: I have severe health anxiety and worry about mouth problems. over the last week, I took 180 pictures of the inside of my mouth and more the week before. I'm noticing my lips feel tight and chapped and have a burning sensation to them, now. Could this be from me opening my mouth so much to take pictures? I've attached a picture of my lips. I believe they look chapped, but no other abnormalities that I can see.

Brief Answer:
please relax, no need to worry...

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...

I've gone through your query and reviewed the attached image...

Well, I couldn't find any abnormalities there... In other words, they seemed to be quite normal lip architecture...

Let me reassure you that what you're describing as chapped, could just be the normal lip folds due to magnified image quality...

Still, to put your mind at ease, just take a few snapshots under a bright light (without zooming them) and upload them here so that I can review them further...

However, if you don't see or feel any abnormalities (like burning over lips, swelling/redness or anything else), it's quite likely that there isn't any in this scenario...

So please relax...If you still want to clarify further, please upload the photos as described above so that I can analyze them and let you know accordingly...

Take care
Kind Regards

Brief Answer:
no need to worry...

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,

I'd still won't be worried at all...

Just ensure to have some dietary precautions for a few days (avoid spicy/salty/sour/excessively hot foods)...have mainly cold, curd based, home cooked, veggies predominantly, boiled/blanched foods (including warm less spicy soups), this should take of it...

Additionally, always ensure to moisturize the lips adequately (with Paraffin based gel rather than vaseline), avoid extreme cold/dry weather exposure (if at all, then try to cover the face with a scarf for further protection)...

This should take care of it in the long run...

Take Care
Kind Regards
