I Have Persistent Digestive Issues, Including Acid Reflux , Flatulence

Question: I have persistent digestive issues, including acid reflux, flatulence, and occasional irregular bowels.

I have been taking pantoprazole for nearly ten years but am concerned about the long term effects of this medication on my body.

Similarly, I have been prescribed clonazepam for anxiety. I am equally converned about the effects of this on my body.

In both cases, I have been advised to evaluate homeopathic options. Where might you suggest I begin?

Brief Answer:
I do not recommend homeopathy

Detailed Answer:
Hi Kjkelly,

Long-term use of PPIs appear to be safe, but it is always a good idea to see if you can reduce dosage gradually and maintain without symptoms. I suggest you also try to keep a good diary to see if there are food items that cause you these symptoms, such as flatulence.

Benzodiazepines should only be used in a short period of time. I recommend you see a psychologist or psychiatrist for conversational therapy.

Hope this helps.
