I Have Moderately Severe Varicose Veins In Both Legs Is There Any Effective, Noninvasive Alternative?

default

Question: I have moderately severe varicose veins in both legs with some bulging veins and lots of discoloration. There is seldom any pain - just occasionally in right thigh, right above knee. I have been to a varicose vein specialist who did a scan of my legs. There is definite evidence that my circulation is poor in my legs. He suggests bilateral ablation and sclerotherapy. I am very reluctant and wonder if there is an effective, noninvasive alternative. If I do have the procedure - it seems likely that the problem could eventually return. What is your experience and recommendation?

Brief Answer:
various management options possible, need additional details, please.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

* There are a variety of management options available for varicose veins depending upon
the symptomatic severity of the condition as conservative versus intervention of
varicose veins.

* The laser ablation of varicose veins is a recent modality of management with good
success depending upon the type of varicose veins.

* There are due chances of a reappearance of varicose veins after many of the
intervention.

Kindly provide me further details so that I can answer your query completely.

1. Are you having diabetes or other systemic disorder?
2. Are you overweight?
3. Does your routine include prolonged standing?
4. Have you been advised to apply any elastocrepe bandage over the varicose veins
by the consultant?

Awaiting for your details.
Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.
1. I do not have diabetes or other systemic disorder.
2. I am 5'5" and 144 lbs and moderately active.
3. I do not stand for prolonged periods. But I do sit at the computer for a few hours a day.
4. I wore the compression stockings for a few months. They did not improve my condition appreciably at all.

I have just been reading about benefits of horse chestnut extract to improve vein issues. Do you have experience with any alternative or naturopathic products/treatments that are effective?
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
any extracts or naturopath products will not support the issue.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the details.

* As per my surgical experience, there are no advantages of any extracts or naturopathic
products for the issues of varicose veins.

* Only help will be obtained with foot elevation when resting and avoid prolong

Thanks.
