Question: I have been seeing a urologist for several years for BPH. My last PSA was 3.95. Lately urination has really gotten worse and frequency worse. Should I be getting a biopsy and if prescribed a med is flomax a good safe med to take or would you suggest something else. Also is the 4 K test score worth asking my doctor about

Brief Answer:
Try a urinalysis first

Detailed Answer:
Hi Edbadia,

First of all, get a urinalysis to see if you have a urinary tract infection.
Flomax seems like a good option if you in fact have worsening BPH. A new PSA in addition to the 4K test will help guide if biopsy is necessary at all, so that is a good idea.

Hope this helps.
