Question: I have been prescribed nortriptyline for migraines and sleep by my Neurologist, I also take Xanax for anxiety and sertroline for an antidepressant. I’ve now been prescribed Phentermine to help with my weight loss.
Is this a safe combo? Phentermine is taken in the morning, 37 mg. Xanax I take 1 mg, as needed. Sertroline I take 1x, 100mg in the morning. The notriptyline I take 10 mg at night.

Can you advise if my nighttime and morning meds will counter react with each other?

Thank you
doctor

Brief Answer:
Sertraline and phentermine interact with each other

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.

Phenetermine have some of side effects and some of them are aggravated when it is used with sertraline. The examples of such side effects include jitteriness, nervousness, irritability and agitation.

Having said this I like to inform you that current dosage unlikely to cause any major problem for you but it is important to keep your doctor in loop whenever you encounter any of the effects/side effects.

It is true that they have interaction but does not mean that medications will counter react to each other.

I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
