Question: I have been having something similar to muscle twitches. It is most common in my legs, and most common when I relax. But these can happen anywhere on my body. I have had them across my forehead. Across the broad part of my back, and other places. They happen very quickly and are over almost instantly. They are sometimes strong and sometimes weak. I take a daily multivitamin, do not consume alcohol, and am generally in good health.

Brief Answer:
Fasciculations

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask A Doctor"

I have gone through your query,

Muscle twitches , aka, Fasciculations could be due to many causes most common of which can happen due to stress, anxiety, thyroid dysfunction or vitamin deficiency.

It can also arise in association to endocrine or serum electrolyte deficiency.

I would suggest you to consult with a general physician in your area for some preliminary tests like:
- Serum electrolytes- Ca and Potassium
- Thyroid function test
- Serum B12

Meanwhile, You can take T. MECOBALMIN 500mcg twice daily for 2 weeks.

I hope this helps,

Please feel free to discuss further,

Regards

Brief Answer:
Vitamin B12

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Thanks for writing back,

Yes, mecobalmin or methlycobalmin is the generic name for Vitamin B12. Deficiency of vit B12 in particular can cause muscle twitches. It is available in both injection and tablet form. Tablets would be easier for you.
Also kindly do the preliminary tests after consulting with your doctor.

I hope this helps,

Regards
